2010 5th Annual “Kids & Trees” Planting Program

Arbor Day in Newburyport will be celebrated on April 30, 2010 by the 5th Annual Tree Planting, a project of the Newburyport Tree Committee,Tree Warden and the Students of the River Valley Charter School.

This year’s Arbor Day planting of 80 trees will bring the Kids & Trees program to over 500 trees in 5 years.

Planting Co-ordinator, Jane Niebling (jane.Niebling@verizon.net) is accepting requests from residents for plantings in tree strips or (preferred) on the lawn side of the sidewalk with the permission of the residents. You can also contact Jane for any questions about this year’s program.

Sites selected by Student Surveyors will appear in the intended sites during the first weeks of April, residents will receive a card to point out the staking.

Residents are asked not to remove these stakes, they will be collected by volunteers!
